I really enjoyed painting this piece - it is the drama of that sunset that captivates me, and I stare at it for what feels like hours. Unlike many of my paintings, the surface is smooth and depth is achieved purely with colours. Slight shimmer comes from the metalic gold used on the sand.
This is an abstracted representation of chrysanthemums in vibrant colours. As you may know, my art expression in two words is "colour" and "texture"; this painting encompasses that beautifully.

This paintings speaks adventure to me. When I look at it, my eye can't help but linger over the textured lines, as if they were clues to follow. Inspired by the numerous films and stories we’ve gone through with my son about pirates, adventures and hidden treasures.
This piece seems less colourful than others but it is firmly standing its ground; there is intensity that commands attention. Inspiring words and textured text bring the eye to a halt for a moment to read, before allowing it to continue on its journey of exploration. Minutes of whispers with a loved one before falling asleep are so precious.
